sounds like youve still got ews, think dave can flash the ecu to remove it, would be worth a shout
Just get any Siemens MS41 ECU and we'll put a map on it with EWS or without EWS to suit the 328/728 engine with a M50 manifold and things![]()

But a 328 ECU will work fine anyway though.
M42 RIGHTNESS.
Past 6500rpm, nobody can hear you scream.
Early E36 325 ECUs were bosch. 328 is Siemens so totally different.

your easiest option is to get an "ews delete" for your ecu,
I got mine done in the uk , darren@ecudecode.co.uk, very reasonable
I would think the 328 ecu will work in your car, but it will still need the ews deleted .
I think if you could find an ecu from a early e36 325 , like 92, 93, 94 , it could work as these were not fitted with ews, BUT Im not 100 percent on that .
Even the very early 328 ECUs are funny too in that they can't be easily flashed. Why not just re-map the ECU you have already? No advantage running an M52 without a MAF really. It's only on engines with itbs and very free flowing and high flow rate plenums where it really makes a difference.

Thanks. I will get onto you about it when I have it all sorted. If I was to get a ECU that is already mapped would it be possible to remove the EWS get it mapped to remove the MAF with an M50 manifold?
Different on the old AFM systems where its much more restrictive.
Just a note on the wiring diagrams. The fact all the colours matched up is just by coincidence, its the pin numbers that are important and should only ever go according to those.

BBTB is still fitted with the original air intake, MAF etc and with the M50 manifold.

Never knew that about the MAF. Just thought it was easier to get it removed if I was ever going to go BBTB.
I went by the pin number. Just nice that it matched up. Made it easier to keep track of.
I didn't see Will's post!

That's great value if its a good map! We charge 150 for re-flashing an M52 ECU anyway.
I'm short an MS41 ECU at the moment too so I'd take your old one as well.

Ah, it was a blessing in disguise to get the re-mapped ECU anyway![]()
I'll check now, don't think I got it though.
